“The purpose of my work is to break down the cultural barriers and stereotypes. I choose to give African women and children a voice where they delicately display the pride and beauty that not only comes from Africa or Black America but all cultures.
With African as my main inspiration I use colors, textures, organic shapes and traditional techniques to create images that are fresh, iconic, expressive and diverse. My current portfolio consists of both commissioned and self-initiated projects”.
Chi Chi’s work has been compared to that of Picasso and Gauguin respectively by her college professor. Her work has been featured in many publications including the Washington Post.
