Because I Crave | Peace Images Jewelry

peace_images_jewelry_african_fashion_blog

I’m hardly a jewelry person. I rarely am found buying earrings online. I wear little to no accessory and I’d pick studs over hoops or chandelier and pendant neck pieces  over loud statement, but if its quirky and ‘different‘ and minimal, count me in!

Peace images is a jewelry brand  I found  on instagram and have been stalking for the past four months. . . (yes. what? don’t judge)  she makes the coolest, loveliest,  most beautiful and uncommon pieces. A lot of her jewelry is made of brass and has this vintagey look and feel to it. The designer says she’s inspired by her cultural legacy, and what it means to be Black in this world.

. . Songs, fabrics, and individuals also inspire me. I try my hardest to remain open because inspiration can visit anytime.

On how she goes about creating new designs..

It’s not really something I actively do. I simply live my life, surround myself with inspiring things that will serve as catalysts, and allow the vision to visit me when they will. It’s all very natural, and no designs ever feel forced.

My message is simple. Remember the rich legacy our ancestors have left for us, and honor it in all we do!

    The Indie

Yes! I’m not really a jewelry person either but after coming across her shop 6 months ago or so, I had to make a couple of purchases. I have these essentially one of a kind pieces that are statement pieces and I wear them from time to time but they are cool because they are so eclectic. This was a dope interview and she’s an amazing woman/artist. Great spotlight.

I’ve been in and out of her shop A LOT of times… a little difficult to decide when I want EVERYTHING. And yes, she is pretty amazing
