It’s That Maki Oh Effect

As I scrolled through ‘Virgin’, the latest collection by Nigerian designer, Maki Oh, I just kept thinking; how on earth does she get it right all the time?

Fresh and delicate with prominent details, these clothes feel ‘urgent, elegant and wholly wearable‘. And yes, I do want my shoulders wrapped in a bow. It’s feathery touches like that that get me in this dreamy state over Maki Oh.

As measured parts of femininity transcend to sophisticated hardness, traditional fabrics are re-made into contemporary pieces and we applaud the rare ability to package this much goodness into one brand.

I’m so into this collection, not because the designer wines and dines with the proverbial stylish First Lady, Michelle Obama or was one of the only two Africans to make the bar for LVMH price, it’s the talent that matters, the clothes themselves, and particularly, these ones I love.
