Street Art In Gambian Villages: A Project By Lawrence Williams

Untitled

We don’t see much of street art in Africa, so when we came across some  photos of  art on the walls of villages in Gambia, we were precisely drawn.

Tagged as ‘wide open walls’,  the photos are from a democratic and interactive street art project –founded by Lawrence Williams– bringing artist of the world to celebrate through art, all good things in life, environmental awareness, peace, love and respect for our cultural values.

The project focuses on turning villages in Gambia into living art and also promote the Gambia as a tourist destination. Collaborating with Write on Africa , they focused on  inspiring others and themselves with art in public spaces.Wide Open Walls selected a few artists, based on their attitude in making and sharing art to participate in the project.

These are their creations….
