Every month, millions of new blogs flood the internet, which means we would probably lose our way if we tried navigating through them all. Yet, there are certain links our browser knows by heart; those ones that have been typed in too often that now, chrome and safari completes the link before we’re even done typing. For us, those links lead mostly to African fashion, personal style, art and photography blogs.
Picture us spending all our spare time scrolling through these blogs as we sit in traffic, skipping from one to the other as we eat breakfast or lunch, and checking them one last time just before we doze off at night -then drop in the fact that they serve as inspiration and make our days better with all the good content they dish out- and you’ve got our absolute favorites, 14 of them, when we decided to count.
1. Asiyami Gold
We’re not sure which came first, blogging or designing, but Asiyami is a gem in both fields. 2. Cassie Daves
In one year, we’ve watched Cassie grow as a blogger, working with brands, sharing personal stories, advising, inspiring and most of all keeping it real. The best part is, she does this with a smile and a signature pose we can mimic any day. Cassie has an amazing sense of style and an eye for good, relatable poetry. She’s vibrant and interesting, and you’ll feel it as you scroll through her blog.

Akpevwe Uvieghara aka Dodos is a make-up artiste and personal style blogger who we adore. Her style is simple, clean and sophisticated (and so is her blog). Her make-up pictorials are super easy and really helpful, especially if you’re as completely clueless about make up as we are.

9. Ramblings Of A Madman
We love an honest man, and that’s exactly why Afam’s blog makes our list. We can always count on him to be unapologetically honest and candid when everyone else is trying to be diplomatic in stating their opinion on a topic. His blog is truly a breath of fresh air. Thank you, Afam!
10. Simply Cyn
We’re here, wondering why this blog wasn’t among our favorites last year because for as long as we can remember, Simply Cyn has always been at the top of our reading list. Even if for nothing else, we’re constantly finding our way to Cynthia’s blog to catch a glimpse of the beautiful places she visits, keep up with the amazing women she features on who’s that girl and stare at her gorgeous mane. It’s been fun to watch the different ways Cynthia styles it, (She has mastered the art of the twistout, by the way) and all the delicious-looking food she reviews and fabulous outfits she puts together and of course, those awesome Etsy faves!

11. That good good blog
Call us creeps, but even though the good good blogger hasn’t posted proper in over 6 months a long long time, we can’t stop ourselves from typing in her url whenever we need inspiration. Even in her absence, she remains a constant source of motivation. A blog that’s different, with unique stories, beautiful photographs, great features and so much rich content is definitely that good good.

If there’s one thing we love, it’s a woman with style. Ezinne Chinkata is just that. Always one step ahead of the class, she keeps schooling us in the style game. Arguably one of the most stylish people in Lagos, this fashion consultant, retailer and editor’s blog documents her personal style, as well as giving useful tips on working trends through the eyes of a seasoned fashion insider. The great part is you can shop most of the looks at the Zinkata store in Dolphin Estate Ikoyi, Lagos.
