Trending In Style: Shoots From Season 2 Of The Making (Part 1)

Missed out on the latest from The Making ? I’ll bring you up to date.

The making season 2 is another edition of a fashion and photography project introduced by Bella Naija Style back in 2011 with the aim to provide unknown creative designers with visibility as well as  distribution and retailing channels for their brands

This season, the team is presenting 10 designers. At the end of the season, one out of the 10 designers will walk away with a cash prize as well as retail and sponsorship contracts.

Shoot 1: “Edge of fameby Telvino Kouture

Telvino Kouture  a unisex brand whose designs are versatile, timeless, notably classic, clean-cut and urban was established  in 2011 by Telvin Nwafor.  Telvin has worked as a freelance personnel, sketching designs for friends and helping to buy outfits, shoes and accessories before realizing he could also produce them himself and sell to them.

Shoot 2: “Lure of the exotic” by Chechi Arinze

Uchechi Arinze, a graduate of Architecture from the University Of Lagos who was part of Mai Atafo Inspired‘s design team got handed the opportunity to start up a full time career in fashion design when entered The Ade Bakare young designer’s competition in 2009 where she came in second place.  “Lure of the Exotic” portrays the wardrobe of a free spirited working class lady who has a top sense of style and likes to be the center of attention.

Shoot 3:  Gracian collection by Kholyns Couture

Chuks Collins started his career as a fashion Designer in 2007, was picked as one of the designers to dress the contestants at the First West African Idol, contributes/co anchors the “Newly Weds” Program on STV, where he gives Tips on Bride and Groom Wardrobe and  is also the head designer at Kholyns Couture.

Shoot 4: “Genesis 2” by sEKU

A brand that embodies happiness, characterized by interesting fabric mixes + affordability and inspired by the Bible and its words, themed this collection “Genesis 2”

Made with beautiful laces in jewel tones, the collection has to do with the discovery of precious stones in the rivers that flowed in the Garden of Eden and depicts a working woman who enjoys what she does and is at peace with who she is.

Shoot 5: “The Fraternity” by J Reason

Make-up artist turned designer, J Reason is a clothing line launched 12 months ago by Olajide Adedeji which aims at young sophisticated men of taste and style who have a liking for the good things of life

“The Fraternity” is a story of young, educated, stylish and sophisticated men looking their best when having their meetings or having drinks.
